New Education Policy 2020 focuses on foundational learning as the bedrock for all future learning. The Government of India launched the NIPUN Bharat Mission on 5th July 2021, with the aim of attaining FLN for all children. Accordingly, the Government of Haryana launched the NIPUN Haryana Mission on 30th July 2021. Under the mission, Haryana is undertaking various academic and governance initiatives to ensure that all students become grade-level FLN competent by grade 3. These initiatives are being supported by a robust tech-enabled mentoring and monitoring system to track all the factors inside and outside of a classroom that affects the learning outcomes of children.
Mentoring plays a critical role in achieving the objectives of NIPUN Haryana Mission. Mentors provide academic support to teachers to use innovative teaching-learning materials and play-based, competency-based pedagogy in their teaching-learning processes in primary classes.
